Here are some ways that you may share your musical abilities at Trinity:
MUSIC WORSHIP LEADERS
Praise Team
Membership: School age to adult
Rehearsals: Wednesdays during the school year or as
determined by group members.
Performance times: Sunday morning worship services.
This group leads congregational singing at worship services and occasionally prepares selections to be presented as Special Music during the worship service. Reading music is a helpful skill in this group but not required.
Cantors
These singers lead the congregation in musical portions of the worship liturgy. Cantors need to read music, have a strong voice and be available to sing during Sunday morning worship services. Schedules are determined by cantors and the Music Coordinator.
TRINITY CHOIR
Membership:
Those in confirmation, high school and adults.
Rehearsals:
Wednesday evenings during the school year and
additionally as needed for special services.
Performances:
Worship services twice per month and other times during the church year.
This choir works hard on its music and makes sure to have fun along the way.
Trinity's tradition has been to perform a cantata during the Advent or Christmas season.
INSTRUMENTALISTS
Brass Group
Members: High school and adult brass players
Rehearsal and performance times are determined by the members.
This group typically participates in the Christmas and Easter worship services and other special services. Instrumentation has included trumpet, cornet, trombone and French horn or baritone. Other brass instruments are welcome.
Soloists
If you play an instrument (brass, flute, violin or other) and would be willing to perform solo or with vocal / instrumental groups at Trinity, please contact Nancy Halvorsen, Music Coordinator or the church office.
Chime Choir
Members: Confirmation age through Adult
Rehearsals: Thursdays (check with office for time)
Performance times: Once a month during worship; also perform for holiday or special services; may accompany choir or other groups.
This group uses hand chimes. Ability to read music is helpful but not required. This is a fun, dedicated group – you will be welcomed here!
